Are you accepting new patients?
Absolutely! I will always accept new patients and look forward to exceeding
your expectations with my care and services.
Do you accept referrals?
Your referral is the highest compliment that you can give my practice. I
welcome your referrals and will always strive to accommodate the needs of
your friends and family.
Do you schedule early or late appointments?
My practice is open on Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and
closed for lunch from 12:30-1:30 pm. My latest appointment is 4:15 PM. If you desire an early or late appointment, we highly recommend that you
schedule your next visit before you leave our office. This will insure that
you are able to schedule at the time most convenient for you.
What if I need to cancel an appointment? Will I be charged?
Yes.
Last minute cancellations deny other patients the benefit of treatment they
need. I appreciate every effort you can make to give me as much notice as
possible if you need to change an appointment. I understand that
occasionally an emergency will present itself and that there is no other
option.
Patients are not charged for cancellations
due to emergencies, but if you have
repeated occurrences, I may ask that you find another provider. I am
committed to providing services to patients that demonstrate a firm
commitment to their psychotherapy.
I'm a new patient and know there are
probably forms to be filled out. Can I do it in advance?
Sure. We have our
new patient form set up so you can
simply click on the one you need, print it and complete it at home. Don't
forget to bring it with you for your first visit!

Where is your office located?
My office is
located in Edmond, Oklahoma at 1366 East Fifteenth Street, Edmond,
OK 73013. Situated 2 miles west of I-35 and 1 mile east of the Broadway
Extension, we enjoy a close proximity to Downtown Edmond, Pelican Bay Water
Park, Spring Creek Shopping Center, and the University of Central Oklahoma.
Do you accept my insurance plan?
We work diligently to assist you in receiving insurance reimbursement for my
services. I am not on any discounted insurance company panels and am
what is considered an "out of network" provider. Most insurance companies will
partially pay for my covered services as an out-of-network provider. A few
insurance carriers require you to see only providers on their approved
panel. As a courtesy, my office staff will assist you in filing insurance claims for my services with your insurance carrier. Your insurance
carrier will then make a determination of whether they will reimburse you
for my services -
and if so, how much. You will be responsible for all professional fees
regardless of your insurance carrier's policy.
What are the different payment options you provide?
I
am pleased to accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express
cards to assist you in paying for my services. I also accept cash, personal
or business checks, and money orders. Unfortunately, I am unable to
otherwise finance your treatment. As a courtesy, my staff will assist you
in
filing an insurance claim with your insurance carrier for my professional
services. Your insurance carrier will then reimburse you directly for
covered services. Any insurance checks we receive on your behalf will be
forwarded to you or applied to your account as a credit, whichever, you
direct us to do.
When your first
contact my office, a member of my staff will
contact your insurance carrier and provide you with an estimate of your insurance coverage for each
visit.
Please note that this
will be an ESTIMATE only. You can accomplish the same thing by making
your own call to your insurance carrier. Also, please note that insurance
carriers vary widely in their reimbursement of mental health services. While
it is illegal for them to refuse to pay for services to which you are
entitled, insurance carriers are not always prompt in paying claims although we file them in a timely manner.
What makes you different than any other
psychology practice I can visit?
When
you choose to visit me, you will immediately have an answer to that
question. Nowhere will you find an
atmosphere that better combines a sincere, helpful, and amiable staff attitude, a quiet,
beautiful, and professional setting, with the most competent, ethical, and
professional services available. More importantly, I pride myself in
my integrity. My first concern is providing what you want or need in
psychological services with the utmost focus on privacy and confidentiality.
Is there a way I can ask you
questions directly?
During your appointment, feel free to ask me any questions that you may
have. If you need extended time for questions, I may suggest you reschedule
another appointment so you can have more uninterrupted time. I welcome
telephone inquiries and attempt to return all telephone calls promptly.
If
you wish to speak to the me via telephone, I am usually unavailable during
working hours. Please feel free to leave a message with my assistant, and I
will make every effort to contact you at the first opportunity that day. I
also gladly receive e-mail messages and try to respond within 24 hours -
sometimes within minutes! However,
do not use e-mail to contact me regarding emergency
situations. Call my office immediately or go to
the emergency room of the hospital nearest you.
Do
your charge for telephone calls?
I
do not charge for telephone calls that are 5 minutes in length or shorter.
Longer telephone calls are charged by the minute and my assistant can give
you the current fees.
How do you keep up to date on
all the current techniques and issues?
You
will be hard-pressed to find a procedure, information or treatment method
with which I am unfamiliar. Aside from the many clinical journals I read and
the continuing education courses I attend, I converse daily with hundreds of
psychologists worldwide via the magic of the Internet. This network is an
invaluable resource for keeping my office on the leading edge of technology
and psychological research.
Additionally, by teaching university courses, the preparation for those
courses keep me very current!
What do I do if I have an emergency when
the office is closed?
I,
or another licensed psychologist colleague, will be on call when my office
is closed. If you are a patient of record you should call the main office
phone number. You will receive directions on how to contact me during your
emergency. A doctor or staff member will return your call as soon as
possible.
